Joan Yanashusky Deemed an Industry Expert in Elementary Education

With a professional background that spans over 40 years, Joan Yanashusky specializes in elementary education - specifically, language arts and mathematics. As a support teacher at the Hudson School, she is responsible for teaching various subjects including reading, writing and mathematics to first- through fourth-grade students. She enjoys working with children and feels a sense of gratification in watching students progress. Ms. Yanashusky attained her multi-sensory teaching skills through participation in the Orton-Gillingham Program, a method of teaching children to read using phonics. A certified reading specialist, Ms. Yanashusky holds a master's degree in reading and a bachelor's degree in elementary education from New Jersey City University.
